About us

Previously known as Teach Jack, it was beautifully renovated and opened its doors as Annagry's first hotel in 2002. The Cannon family were the founders of Teach Jack and the hotel still retains its long line of family connections. The Cannon family who have lived in the area for nearly 400 years since 5 brothers fled from Cromwell's Army after the Ulster Plantation in 1609. They left Conwall, near Letterkenny, and settled around the foot of Cnoc an Mhulai and Cnoc a Diaraigh, exactly where the hotel is located. It is now owned and operated by the Mc Devitt Family(James, Joe & Anita), who take great pride in welcoming all their guests to their establishment.
Today, Caisleain Oir's impressive guest accommodation comprises of twenty beautifully refurbished en-suite rooms - all with tea and coffee making facilities, television and telephone.





Just One Mile from the hotel is Donegal Airport or Aerfort Dhun na nGall (www.donegalairport.ie), which provides ease of transport to this unique part of Donegal. The Services are provided by Aer Arann and the Aer Arann Crew regularly overnight in the hotelwww.aerarann.com

For those who like a walk before breakfast, there is two mountains behind the hotel and from here you can get a panoramic views of the coastline. Also on the mountain you will see the remains of the megalithic ring fort, Ard na Phunta. For those less adventurous there is the gorgeous Carrickfinn Blue Flag Beach, a real hidden gem in this area. A stroll along this mile long beach will invigorate and Inspire you for the day. For those looking for a more demanding stroll, then a 5 minute car journey from the hotel will take you slightly further afield for hill-walking on Errigal and the rest of the Derryveagh mountains.

Glenvegh National Park
The hotel is located just 20 Miles from one of Irelands most magnificant National Parks Glenveagh www.glenveaghnationalpark.ie .Wild deer roam the mountains & 2006 seen the introduction of golden eagles. The Park Boasts Beautiful Walks and Gardens and a tour of the castle is a must when visiting Glenveagh

Kerrytown
Ostan Caisleain Oir is just 2 miles from the kerrytown shrine where the recent apporations occoured. It has also been recently claimed that miracles have been occouring there as a woman who was suffering from chronic pain was cured after a visit to the shrine. The shrine is in a peaceful rural setting near annagry. travel arrangements can be made for guests to and from the hotel to visit the kerrytown shrine
