(Miseog was an old lady who lived in the area at the turn of the 1900's who predicted various changes that were to come to this beautiful area, which included predicting that there would be large birds landing people in Carrickfinn and that there would be a castle for strangers. We like to think she ment that you would arrive as a stranger & Depart as a Friend!!)

Caisleain Oir formerly known as Teach Jack was run by Dom & Anne Mc Devitt.  In 2002 they renovated the bar to a twenty bedroom hotel.  Dom & Anne are still involved in the hotel with the help of their family, Anita, James and Joe.
